Every new idea needs an outsider
Every time we want to build something, we have to go outside for it.
// The diagnosis
Your people were taught to use AI, so they can only ask for things. Nobody inside can take a business problem and turn it into a working system, which means every idea now arrives with a procurement cycle attached to it and the small ones never get built at all. You are not short of AI. You are short of people who can make it do something, and that gap widens every quarter you stay a customer of it.
// TRAIN
Training built around people making their own agents and workflows, not being shown a product. A survey first, whose key question is which three tasks eat the most of your week. Small groups by role and level. Everyone leaves having built something that runs, and knowing how to build the next one without me.
// The outcome
The next idea gets tried in an afternoon by the person who had it, instead of waiting for a budget line and a supplier.
// Before you call
Count your last ten AI ideas. How many got built, and how many needed someone from outside. The difference is the number, and it is usually the one nobody has written down.
Not this if you want a keynote. That is a different thing and worth not confusing.
// The other calls I get
- 01Everyone agrees we should be doing this. Nobody has an afternoon to spare.
- 03Legal will not approve it, so officially nobody here uses AI.
- 04We cannot take on more work without hiring more of the person we cannot find.
- 05Most of what we earn arrives through a platform we do not control and cannot integrate with.
- 06We are paying four suppliers for AI and I cannot tell the board which of them is working.
- 07We have been at this a year and I still cannot put a number next to any of it.
// If this one is yours
It goes straight to my inbox. No sequence, no sales team.
